sawdust
definition: noun - powdery particles of wood produced by sawing.
When I'm working on projects, sometimes I
build or create things to see if I understand the problems
or issues. For that reason, a lot of it is temporary, has
no particular purpose, but might be amusing or educational.
That's what this site is all about.
This site's content includes topics on hardware, sensors,
microcontrollers, software, firmware, techniques I've used
or discovered. It's really a stash for things I'm learning
and want to share or just keep around for reference.
I do middleware software development, web development,
Flash GUI development, open source development and
application of open source projects professionally. I
explore microcontrollers and embedded systems mostly as a
hobby and learning exercise. I've done a lot of Windows
Embedded development, but because Windows Embedded is an
oxymoron, I don't count that as real embedded experience.
In my career I've been with companies such as Macromedia,
3Com, Lotus/IBM. In the last several years I was involved
in a large AVL (automated
vehicle location) system for the emergency responders of
Colorado Springs. I'm currently contracting with
OpenLogic doing open source content development
and packaging. For fun I originated the
OSCirrus open source project and this family of
See-Do web sites.
My workbench on a messier
day. The oscilloscope on the floor under my desk is one I
bought with money my grandfather gave me for
graduation....20+ years later, it's still going strong.
